Llama-Drama-WM

Hello Everyone,

I hope you have enjoyed the releases of the March Kraftin Kimmie stamps release. It has been an honour being a Krafty Guest this month!

All THREE new clear stamp sets are NOW available over at the Krafty Shop, along with our new Sparkling Sapphire inks, TWO new stencils and our new Springy Krafty Dots!

So let’s have a fun hop around the Krafty Team and Krafty Guests’ blogs and check everything out in action! Grab a nice hot (or cold) beverage, sit back and relax while you enjoy this kreative tour!

I decided that I needed to use Drama Llama one more time during this release! I coloured up the Llama with the saddle. I decided to add some green’s and blue’s to make a gender neutral card, as I get this request all the time from my family.

I loved this pattern paper from My Mind’s Eye as it just felt like the perfect paper pack to use with a Llama card.

I then heat embossed the No Problamma!  (my favourite sentiment of this release) and added a sprinkling of Kraftin kimmie Spring dots.

This turned out to be my favourite card of the release, I hope you like it as well!
If you liked anything from the Kraftin Kimmie release, good news! you can get it in the shop right now! Including the Gimme Kimmie Kits which contains everything Kraftin Kimmie released this month at a limited time discount in case you want it all!

Now head out on the blog hop to check out these lovely goodies in action and then head on over to the krafty shop to scoop them up!

Happy hoppin’ and happy shoppin’!

Fawn’d of you, Kraftin Kimmie Release Day 2

Fawn'd-of-you-WM

Hello Everyone,

Welcome back to Day TWO of our March Krafty Peeks at Kraftin’ Kimmie Stamps!

Fawn'd of you banner

Today we are sharing a wonderful spring stamp set from artist Cheryl Grant!
It’s called FAWN’D OF YOU!

This sweet set features a lovely lady who’s getting ready for the nice weather to begin and the flowers to start growing!
She has two furry friends…a bunny and a fawn….plus four coordinating sentiments!

My project today features the Girl and her friend fawn. I matched her up to some pattern paper that I thought worked well with the vine stencil and Sapphire ink. I then heat embossed the sentiment onto some pattern paper clouds for a sweet spring look.

We have some more exciting announcements to check out below!

llama drama wm sheet

The first stamp set we are previewing for you is
called LLAMA DRAMA and is by our fabulous
artist, Melissa Baker-Nguyen!

I love that you can use the full llama’s, portrait llama’s, or mix and match the heads to the bodies! Of course we have lot of fun accessory stamps to add unique personalities to each llama!

I decided it would be fun to use all the llama heads in a polaroid (a llama family!) and the hilarious Save the drama for your llama sentiment.

As you hop around the Krafty Team’s blogs today you will see the Llama Drama stamp set in action in combination with our awesome new March Kraftin’ Kimmie products!

Sparkling Sapphire

You will spot our newest addition to the Krafty Kolours Hybrid Ink line! It’s a stunning new dark royal blue called
SPARKLY SAPPHIRE!
As always it will be available in full sized ink pads, mini cubes and ink refills!

I am excited to use this colour with other blues, greens, and teals to make some ocean backgrounds!

stencils

We’ve got TWO brand new Krafty Stencils for this month’s release to coordinate with our stamp sets!
They are called LEAVES & VINES and STARBURST!

Starbust was so much fun to play with! I loved squishing Versamark ink through the stencil to make a silver heat emboss starry background!

Springy Enamel Dots

And of course, we are adding some lovely new Krafty Dots!
These ones are called SPRINGY DOTS!

I was inspired by the springy dots for most of my projects for the release as I thought it would be fun to limit my colour palette!

You’ll get to see all of our brand new goodies in action over the next few days of March Krafty Peeks and everything will be released at our LIVE Online Release Party in the Krafty Friends facebook group on Saturday, March 16th at 1pm EST!

For now, hop around and check out some incredible designs from our Krafty Team!!

Trick or Treat Some Odd Girl Blog Hop

Wizard Panda by Patti

Ding Dong!
Welcome to our annual Trick or Treat with the Odd Girls!
Our hop is full of spooktacular Halloween Tricks and Treats. Don’t worry, our tricks won’t be too scary! AND, just like trick or treating for candy, you don’t want to skip any houses…or blogs in this case! Every stop along the way will have (crafty) goodies for you but you won’t get the treats you must be a good trick or treater and stop at every house and leave your comment. You can Trick or Treat with us thru midnight EDT on November 3rd, winners will be announced here on Nov 5th!

Lately, I have been challenging myself to get out of my “colouring comfort zone.” I was finding that I wasn’t enjoying colouring as much, because I was doing the same thing over and over so for this project I wanted to see if I could change the little Wizard Bandit from a Racoon into a Red Panda (which is my favorite animal!) and I am pretty happy with the results. Just goes to show a little challenge can spark some creative fun!

I added my magical red panda to the front of a canvas where I wanted to use mainly orange and black with just a pop of green, I must admit I never make Halloween cards as I have no one to give them to… so I made a canvas instead! and will use it as  Halloween decor!

Here is our hop order for you after you leave the comfort of my porch…
Patti <—–You are here!
Wondering what our treats are?
Well, of course we’ll be doing a coupon code for 31% off at the shop throughout the hop, TRICKORTREAT.
Then from those of you who comment on every stop we’ll be giving away 3, $15 GCs to the shop. Awesome, right? Make sure to stop in our community, I may have another surprise up my sleeve as well.
And there you have it! Happy Haunting – I mean HOPPING!

Lots of hugs,

Patti

March 2017 Card Wrap Up!

Hi Gals and Pals,

It looks like I did post 1 or 2 projects in March, but as I scroll my social media I didn’t post all of them.

While I was house bound with tons of snow, I had visions of what Spring would hold!

Starting with a Just Because card for my Some Odd Girl design team.  I found papers that really had me dreaming of spring flowers! and matched with Chill Kaylee.

Patti's-Laid-Back-Kaylee-wi

Stamp Image: Chill Kaylee by Kristy Dalman for Some Odd Girl Stamps

This is one of my absolute fav Kaylee stamps, I love the pose she is in, her cool outfit, and her lovely face is so much fun to colour. I knew I wanted her grounded on the sentiment banner as I felt she needed to be sitting on something. I also gave myself the challenge of being inspired by a card from the past. In the previous card I used brads and decided that to be fair to the rules I set out for myself I better use brads on this one! I went through my old stash and found these adorable butterflies that paired so well!

The funny thing about this card is I coloured it up with my Sis-in-law in mind, when she saw it sitting on my card wall she was immediately drawn to it! so I gave it to her right there and then! that is the beauty of a just because card!!! it doesn’t have to be a special occasion for you to give some handmade kindness!

The next card I made was inspired by a new image that Some Odd Girl released called Dancing Piper!

Dancing-Piper-with-WM

Dancing Piper created by Kristy Dalman for Some Odd Girl Stamps

I was inspired by all things glitter and bling! I really wanted to make a shiny card (almost like a disco ball) and thought Piper would look really amazing decked out in the middle of a graphic layout! I had decided to challenge myself to use copic combos that I do not normally use, including a dark rich mocha skin tone, and some grey/ blue jeans (my perfer colour of jeans for myself!) I was extremely happy with my colouring of her clothes, something I really struggle with in the past. I did end up with a bit of an oops by overblending her face. Got to remember that the light copics will bleach the skin if applied once it is dry! I will try this skin tone again though because I feel like it is nice to have a variety of different tones to work with!

Last project I made for March was a really adorable bookmark! Using Nerdy Chihuahua by Some Odd Girl!

Nerdy-Chihuahua_ Patti

a cute little bookmark using the adorable Nerdy Chihuhua by Kristy Dalman for Some Odd Girl Stamps

This is by far my genius moment come to life! I have dreamt of making cute little bookmarks with stamps for a very, very, very long time! I think everyone needs bookmarks every once in a while (myself included!) and when I saw Nerdy Chihuahua I knew right away I wanted to figure out how to make a magnetic bookmark! (click on the link for a how-to tutorial) I will definitely be making more of these! they also would make great gifts to give out to friends and family So I will be making a big batch one a day off to have on hand to give out!

I ended up carrying the bookmark in my bag all weekend without any issues! then as a random act of kindness, I gave the bookmark to a client at the vet clinic, since the chihuahua reminded me of her little furry friend!

That was the projects I completed for March! Tomorrow I will be sharing Aprils!

Until Then,

Lots of Hugs

~Patti

Shine Bright Like a Panda!

nerdy-panda-with-watermark

Stamp Image: Panda Nerd by Some Odd Girl (www.someoddgirl.com)

Hi, Gals and Pals!

Today I broke out my Doodlebug and Some Odd Girl’s “Panda Nerd”

I love this cute little panda, and I designed my card to be a little bit fun for my Uncle.

Moving into a new house, my Uncle is the best! he has helped me change multiple light bulbs and actually had to help me fix the lights so that I don’t have to run up and down the stairs all the time to turn a switch on. (The people who owned this house did not know how to install 2 way light switches properly!)

I coloured the little panda after watching the animal class on how to colour panda’s and decided to add glossy accents to the glasses to make them shiny. Then decided on a layout for my card. I found the light bulb pattern paper in the doodlebug pack, and thought that would make him laugh so had to add that on the card, I then wanted the little nerdy panda to be holding a light bulb, So I actually cut out the lightbulb after printing it with my Silhouette and carefully cut around his hands so he could be holding it. I felt that the lightbulb needed a lot of shine on it, so I added Spectrum Noir glitter pen and then topped it off with glossy accents for that fun 3d effect.

Afterward, I glued all the pattern paper together and added a little bit of an inlay effect for more interest. I then went searching for a sentiment, I knew it had to be a pun on bright but I didn’t have any sentiments that matched. After searching for half an hour I decided it was time to “Frankenstein” a few sentiments so that I could make it say You are so bright.

I hope this card helps brighten your day!

Lots of hugs!

~Patti

Question Time: Are you a nerd? I have always thought I am a nerd one way or another and it doesn’t even bother me now. I think it is great that “Nerd Culture” is in and is a way to express one’s self.
